the website of China Scholarship Council, the Management Information
Platform for Government-sponsored Overseas Education of Chinese
citizens, and the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System are
adjusted as 8:30-17:30 (Beijing Time) on working days, and are shut down
for maintenance during the rest of time from March 2 to March 20.

Instructions of the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System

Step 1: Fill in the correct Program Category and Agency Number. An Agency Number represents a specific application receiving agency and a correct choose of Program Category is necessary before filling in the Agency Number.
Please make sure you fill it in correctly, otherwise you will not be
able to continue your online application or your application will not be
accepted.
Your Agency Number should be achieved from the authority which you will submit your application to. Once the correct Program Category and Agency Number are entered in the system, name of the authority will be displayed automatically on the page.

Step 2: Fill in the Online Application Form and Upload Supporting Documents
truly, correctly and completely following the steps listed on the left
of the page. Applicants are required to select a discipline before
choosing their majors. Please refer to the Disciplines Index, which
could be downloaded from Help, if you have any doubt about the
disciplines and majors.

Step 3: Check each part of your Application carefully before submitting it. Click Submit to submit your Application. The submitted documents will be the only reference for the applied universities to confirm the admission.

Step 4: You can make changes to your application by clicking Withdraw and Edit the Application on the top of the page. Make sure to submit it again by clicking Submit
after finishing all the changes. Otherwise, the retrieved application
will become invalid and your new application will not be received
either. Once the application is under checking, the applicant will not
be able to withdraw it.

Step 5: You can download and print the completed Application Form by clicking Print the Application Form.

Step 6: Send the paper application form and other supporting documents to the dispatching authorities if they requires you to do so.

NOTE:

CSC only accepts recommended applications
from the dispatching authorities in your country or the Chinese
universities under Chinese University Program of CGS. The Agency Number
can only be obtained from the dispatching authorities or the
corresponding universities upon recommendation. An application with
incorrect Agency Number will not be accepted.

Program Category and Agency Number are mandatory for the online application in CGS Information System. Program Category and Agency Number are related, which can be defined as follows:

Program Category Type A
generally refers to scholarship programs responsible by authorities
other than Chinese universities. Applicants of Type A programs are
requested to fill in the Agency Number of above mentioned agencies (e.g. Chinese Embassy in your country). Applications of Type A will be reviewed by these agencies.

Program Category Type B
generally refers to scholarship programs responsible by Chinese
universities under CGS-Chinese University Program. Applicants of Type B
programs are requested to fill in the Agency Number of above mentioned universities. Applications of Type B will be reviewed by these universities.

Program Category Type C generally refers to certain appraisal scholarship programs. Applicants of Type C programs will be informed by CSC of the Agency Number in special notices.

Program Category Type A
generally refers to scholarship programs responsible by authorities
other than Chinese universities. Applicants of Type A programs are
requested to fill in the Agency Number of above mentioned agencies (e.g. Chinese Embassy in your country). Applications of Type A will be reviewed by these agencies.

The above classifications are for
references only. Before starting the online application, applicants
should confirm the correct Program Category and Agency Number
